Coverage limits and, in the old core, appearance
Concrete adds impervious surface, which is what city stormwater guidance is concerned with — driveways, patios and pads can run into coverage limits and drainage requirements independent of the pour itself. Separately, on a designated property in the historic core, work visible from the street can attract preservation review reaching material and finish. Which applies depends on where the parcel sits.

Check coverage and designation before design
Citywide records cannot tell you your existing impervious coverage, your parcel's designation status, or whether your subgrade will hold a slab. Establish the first two with the city and the third with whoever pours.
